A Question of Collusion

The Oklahoma Department of Commerce generated a Pro-slaughter research document without a bibliography, that was sent to Oklahoma legislators during the voting period for the horse slaughter bills. Here is that document. I have emailed the legal/ public relations representative, Don Hackler, for the Department of Commerce and asked these questions becasue the authors of the document, Jon chiappe and Dierdre Myers will not speak with me. Upon any reply from Mr. Hackler, I will of course inform you. Click here for doc Mr. Hackler, As our conversation on the phone indicated, I have some questions regarding the pro slaughter document sent to the Oklahoma Legislature. Inquiries are as follows : • Is it standard practice for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to generate a research document without a bibliography ? • Is it standard practice for the Department of Commerce to generate a document that is clearly biased to one side of a subject to influence law makers in the passing of a bill ? • The document states in bold lettering “ The recession combined with the lack of market for the horses has led to an increase in the number of abandoned and neglected horses.” This is in fact not part of the horse slaughter equation, as abused or abandoned horses are a separate problem entirely. Horse slaughter has never stopped and owners have always had the choice to send horses to auction, thus to slaughter. The fraudulent GAO report left out the data that these cases actually declined after the closings of the U.S. slaughter plants. So my question is - Why was this incorrect, unviable statement included in this document, as it is false and misleading. • If the three major slaughter plants in the U.S employed a total of 200 workers as this document states, how can the number of jobs it states are lost by plant closings be calculated at 600-700 ? What is the source for this seemingly inflated statistic ? • The cost of abuse cases or abandoned horses generally falls upon private citizens and rescues, not the cities or state, so what is the source that supports the excessive dollar amount quoted for this care ? • Why would the Department of Commerce seek to support a foreign owned business, known for animal cruelty and tainted meat? One that taxpayers will foot the bill for, that also supports a criminal element, and would clearly damage the reputation of the state known as the Horse Show Capitol of the World ? • My information is that Legislator Mark Allen requested this document to be created for himself and Governor Mary Fallin, is that correct or did Ms. Myers and Mr. Chiappe draw it up with their own motivations ? • Does the Department of Commerce often create documents like these, not meant for public consumption, but are meant to sway the votes of lawmakers ? • Is it fair to state that the Oklahoma Department of Commerce is pro -slaughter, as is clearly stated in a letter that legislator Mark Allen sent to his fellow legislators, titled "Do you love horses?" Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Sincerely, Tracey Williamson News Department 187

"We the People"

One of the topics that will be covered extensivley here is horse slaughter. It represents the greed and corruption that has taken over our elected officials and threatens to destroy our way of life on this planet. With all of the environmental and sweeping destruction of our natural resources and wildlife being pushed by the cattlemen , big oil, big ag, the DNR, Wildlife Services and the Congessional Sportmens club, we have to find a foothold to push back. They have forgotten their oathes of office, their ethics and morals and have become prostitutes to corporations and the almighty dollar. They have forgotten one little thing. "We the people," and we outnumber them all. Its time to change course, and it will be our voice, and our votes that get it done.
